Every group is different, so visits can be adapted to suit the students’ age, year group and learning objectives.
A few useful details to help teachers and group leaders prepare for their visit.
Most school visit sessions last approximately 1 hour.
For students in Year 8 and above, you can choose either a 1-hour session or an extended 1 hour 15 minute session, allowing more time for questions and discussion.
We encourage as many teachers as possible to attend, along with any parents who would like to join. To make the sessions as beneficial as possible, please come prepared with any questions you may have about Islam or Muslim beliefs and practices.
There is no formal dress code, but as Masjid Maryam is a place of worship, we kindly ask visitors to dress respectfully and modestly.
We recommend avoiding shorts and sleeveless tops. Headscarves are not required, although they will be available for female visitors who would like to wear one when entering the prayer area during prayer times.
Tell us about your school, group and preferred visit date. Our team will review the request and contact you to confirm availability and arrangements.
